Let's Go Check the Irrigation!!

The heat and humidity have been oppressive. The dew point hit 81 today. We've been running our wells as much as possible.
The sun will set in about 10 minutes. This pic is taken just south of our house. One of the rewards for going to all the work of irrigating, (besides higher yields) is being able to idle around the farm at about sundown, while tending to the wells, and observing the long shadows, the beauty, and Gods creatures. I saw 5 whitetail deer in the field road tonight. They were nibbling at my crops again. They didn't stay put long enough for me to be able to run over the little varmits. (er,,, creatures)

You don't strike me as a PETA supporter.

Actually my Dad (Cliff) and I are PETA members. People Eating Tasty Animals. If God meant for us to not eat animals, then why did he make them out of meat?

I was about to come out and give you a hand - then I read the part about youth. Sorry, I won't be able to help.

Ralph, we'll hire the youth. We need corn nibblers. Come on out, the fridge on the deck is plugged in and cold.

Cliff, read Dan's comment like you said - snorted coffee out the nose. I HAVE GOT to remember that one.

Where can I possibly use it? Somehow I'll get it into a sentance somewhere!

Cliff,
Thanks for the link. If more people had your whimsical attitude toward life, the world would be a better place. Your blog is always a hoot and a half!

People around me here (including family) are just so bitter, catty, and gossipy. I think there's more than rust in that well water! I try to stay positive and not let the bastards drag me down. Most of the best humor is based in adversity. Lots of material here!

Thanks for listening.

We had the priviledge of hearing the governor of Arkansas speak this weekend, Mike Huckabee.
For some reason, I think you would have really enjoyed him. He is funny and a good, strong leader of high moral character. In the last two years, he's lost over 100 pounds and completed a marathon.
My kids enjoyed his speech too.
