Beta and Dry Feet

The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good. Calmness of mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom.- James Allen (1864-1912)

We are in for some cold weather here for a few days. Or maybe a month. Who knows. The fuel being burned up in our furnace is causing dry skin. Dry feet to be exact. I have decided to apply some lotion to the problem area. This decision was brought about by the realization that on my early morning trip to the bathroom, the sound of velcro being ripped open was caused by my feet breaking contact with the carpet. I can also attest to the fact that we need new carpet in the bedroom or should at least get it stretched.

This is my first Beta blog. I see in the transition that Blogger forgot who half of my comments are from and assigned annonymous to them. I'm still a bit skeptical about this.

I haven't switched over yet. Let me know how it works.
Cold here this AM minus something. After it falls below zero it really doesn't matter. Did I happen to mention we got snow last night? Clean white snow to cover the dirty snow.
Take care of your feet.

Zim's Crack Creme is said to be pretty good. I suppose you could use it on your feet, too??

Okay Mike, stop, you're killing me. THAT was funny!

Hey Cliff I swapped over to Beta but I don't think they are calling it Beta anymore. I really like it. You can make your blog more purty now.

I use Gold Bond on my feet. They have a foot cream and I think its amazing. We get dry feet here with the dry air and also having tiles everywhere doesn't help. Its the only one that has worked.

Thethought of your feet making the sound of velcro made my skin go all goosey.... yuck. Real nice!! You know I hate feet. Now I need to go and get a tylenol. My day has been ruined. lol

Take care xx

Are you going to tell us about your birthday party???

I have some foot cream I got from Avon that is pretty good. You need to lather your feet up with it really well and then put some nice warm socks on and let it all soak in!

Keep warm Cliff. It's cold here to and going to get colder.

Just use Vaseline. Slather it on at night, then slip on socks. Much cheaper, too. This will work on all body parts, too. :)

Don't worry about the 'anonymous' showing up, Cliff...it soon changes back over to the names used.

Good post! :)

My feet get dry in the winter too, cliff. I have a perscription cream that you put on 2x a day, it doesn't help anymore than the non perscription ones. Try sleeping with cream on your feet covered by cotton, white, socks. THe moisture gets trapped in with the socks, and the cotton is better than synthetic for your skin.
Anyhow, enough about feet. I have found that if I don't sign on to blogger using my username and password, I cannot comment on anyone using beta. It gets frustrating! I haven't switched yet, I am holding out, I like it the way it is, but I guess eventually I will have to or find another blog service! OH no, how would I do that!? So that may be the problem with your commentors.
Thanks for the kind words on my last post, I am feeling a little better today. I guess the stress and the whole weight of it all was there for a while. I will get through it!

Thanks, Cliff. for the visit this morning. I have and answer but will put it here also so you don't have to come back so soon to look. :)

First, those feet. I'm sure Marilyn would get you some slippers if she knew about your problem. Mrs. Jim has gotten me some nice moose skin (PETA beware) ones from L.L. Bean.

Now my poor Mustang, why it has to sit outside:
I sure did try [to keep it inside], but Mom's Green Mustang II was in the only other available stall. It had priority.

Two cars had to sit outside, now just Mrs. Jims is outside. It wouldn't be outside but the ones inside are small enough to fit the places in the garage we could make.

The green Mustang II had been in Mema's garage, we are in the process of finding a new stable for it.

Not really sure what all the beta talk is about. Does it have something to do with little fish?

I recommend one of the Aveeno brand lotions. They are really very good. I am sure Marilyn would appreciate it if you take care of those feet... no one wants to sleep with sandpaper! The previous tips about using socks are good... Do something! I can hear your feet from here!

Mike's crack cream comment CRACKED me up!
(Best comment I've read in awhile. Well done, Mike. Thanks for the laugh.)

My hubby has a terrible problem with dry, cracked heels. He can relate to the "velcro" thing. He wears these socks with rubber coated heels. He puts lotion on, then the socks, then goes to bed.
They help soften the skin and then he uses a pumice stone in the shower to scrape off the skin.
It doesn't completely eliminate the problem, but it helps.

I recently switched to New Blogger and it did the same thing to my comments.

It is dreadfully cold here, too...School was cancelled today...and its been far too cold to go anywhere with the girls.
I'm wishing we were in Florida or someplace warm right now.

Winter is hard on my skin and feet as well. I use Kiehl's brand lotion on my hands and feet, its a must in the winter.

Today I switched to beta too...kind of makes me nervous.
Take care Cliff :O)
