It's 53 degrees and 6 A.M. here on the farm. A little froggy, as my neighbor says, and the quiet is deafening. The first pic is looking North. The lawnmower will be pushed into service as soon as the grass dries off. Last week the corn was just barely noticeable here in eastern Nebraska. This week it seems to be growing several inches a day. I'll bet we will need to have it cultivated (ditched for irrigation) in the next ten days or it will get too tall.
This next pic is looking south from the porch. It shows the corn field and the back end of our 'fleet' of mini vans. As Elmer Fudd says, "Sshhhh, be bewy bewy quiet".

I agree with the tee shirt I saw yesterday. I've reached the age where it's not advisable to go for a Skinny Dip. From now on it's called a Chunky Dunk.

Those are great picture - the quiet of the morning.

A very peaceful scene, Cliff.
In Texas, we say there is only one cloud in the sky. A big one, Texas sized. Maybe that is one of our Texas clouds that came up your way?
A mean person would give a shirt like that.
..
beautiful
"Chunky Dunk" lol. It's always great to see your photos - it's like being there! Here's wishing you and yours a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend, Cliff.
Funny how a picture or two can immediately calm a girl down. Thank you ~
(ps my oldest son still says "froggy". It's just too cute to correct.)
Just another day in paradise.
Trees? Must be northern Nebraska :) Don't miss the heat there..or the corn :) sorry....by the way, I own that shirt :)
Cliff, these are such beautiful pictures, I can feel the quiet of the morning! My favorite time of day is the early am, and late late at night! My hope for you, may the corn grow high and be fruitful!
One of my bestest mom memories is walking into my 2-year old's room one morning, opening the curtains before getting her out of her crib and having her say "Mommy, it's FROGGY outside".
Gotta love it!
It must be so amazing to be surrounded by such beauty. I love froggy weather. Its kind of eerie but neat at the same time.
Take care xx
Beautiful pictures. To me it looks very restful. But I'm not the one who has to mow all that grass!
My kinda pics. My kinda place. I hope the drought that is affecting the western half of the state(s) doesn't settle in your area.
how beautiful. I would love to visit your farm. Farms are such peaceful places. I feel closer to God there...in the quiet and beauty of the country.
Thanks for sharing.

I can feel the morning chill in the air and breathe in the fresh morning smell. What IS that SMELL?? Cliff!
Do you have beans last night? Huh? :)
A chunky dunk sounds right to me. You won't find me dunking my chunky bod into any ponds, pools or rivers without it being clothed. Naked skinny dipping is for psychos and those who are skinny and/or unashamed.
I have a feeling that the sights at a nudist resort would not be pleasant. My mind is going off on a tangent here.
Have a pleasant holiday weekend.
Chunky Dunk, huh? I never skinny dipped but if there was dunking and I was the one being dunked then it would be called a chunky dunk for sure! I'd sure make a mighty big splash.
Great pictures. I love the morning time. I usually sleep through it nowadays but it's a perfect time of day...if you are awake...of course...that is.
chunky dunk!!! that is too funny. i love it.
the pictures are beautiful!!!
