Two Posts at the Same Time! How About That?
Even though you won't want to miss the post below about Blogstock, I wanted to point out my latest article in the Midwest Produce.
Great story... are you sure you weren't writing about us? Last year the hubs came home on July 4th and announced he was finally finished planting beans. That statement was followed by,"What do you want to do?" "Don't tease me", I answered back. "Anything... name it", he replied. "Go to the beach", I said. "Get the car packed!" He answered. I had the four kids and the car packed up before he got out of the shower. Needless to say, it was one of our favorite trips. Spur of the moment is so exciting!
Hi Cliff! Great story. Your mom sounded like a great-wise woman. And even though your dad was a man of few words, he had insight as to what the family and especially your mom needed. I love the line your dad used, "When we get to the highway I'll need to know which way to turn." Lisa
Cliff ~ Double entendre? Me thinks NOT! I read the post there and left a comment... but I forgot to mention... that this sounds like a nice vacation to me right now..."Fried chicken with white chicken gravy on mashed potatoes might be followed with homemade pie ala mode!" Now THAT's what I'm talking about! ~ jb///
I've never lived on a farm so I don't know what it was like, but my family didn't take vacations. Dad was in construction and rainy days were our vacations. When we were little, dad would take us to the beach over the weekend, but that was not a vaction....I had to get married to find out what a real vacation was like. I love the mountains too.
