This afternoon we made the 50 mile round trip to pick up my 91 year old Father In-Law from his senior home, brought him to our house and then later took him to our Christmas Contata presentation. We were pretty pleased with the way it went and thought all of our hard work and effort had paid off.
He indicated on the way home that he was duly impressed with our choir.
We took him back and he was greeted by a nurse who began asking questions about his day. As we left the building we could hear him explaining what a contata was and that, "It was pretty good, the choir members were pretty old, but they were very good none the less."
I'm not sure why that made me laugh all the way home but it did.

My grandmother at 80 was disturbed by all the "old people' in her Sunday school class. Most were younger than my grandmother or at least the same age.
I'm know how happy Marilyn must have been to be able to take her father on this outing. It will be do nice to have him close.
The pot calling the kettle black! That's always good for a laugh. Every once in awhile I'll be talking to Cliff about some stranger I've seen someplace and call them "old". Then it hits me... the person appeared to be about my age! I guess I'm old too.
I've heard your choir sing - they are good. I know the key players in this story. I know why you laughed all the way home and it is probably the same reason I have been chuckling most the day.
