First Tomato

Our growing season is way ahead of schedule here. Waaay ahead. Our corn is already mid thigh high. The peonies were all a month ahead of time and distant memory. But yesterday we had our first full sized, ripe tomato. I don't think I've had very many tomatoes from this area even in July so to have one in May is incredible.
I should have taken a picture but Ralph and Char and Marilyn had it cut up and on grilled hamburgers before I thought of it.
We all spent an enjoyable weekend in Normal Ill at their Granddaughter's high school graduation. Good times and great party. Really neat folks.

Not fair! Not fair at all! How does somebody that far north of me get a ripe tomato before I do?

It was a great time! Thanks for all the help. It would not have been a success with out you, your beautiful bride and the my in-law. Thanks for making this day so special for my family.

Heck, we are lucky to keep out tomato plants alive in Normal.

That tomato sounded DELICIOUS. Glad everything is thriving there. Our corn isn't even shoe deep here. Don't know if that's good or bad??? LOL take care.

Sorry I didn't know you wanted a picture. Ate a store bought tomato last night and about spit it out.

Wow, a ripe tomato already! That is early. My neighbor has a garden and he's worried because his have not even bloomed yet. They don't get a lot of sun though. Corn here is up to my shoulders though! Just took a picture today.

I groaned at your goldfish joke!! Sorry!

Loved your post about the Smart phones. I am with Junie Rose. I only carry one for if I need it and it's turned off unless I do need it. I don't think I'm smart enough or patient enough to figure out how to use one.

Sure, no picture so you can say about anything. I suppose it was a whopper of a tomato too, right? Yes, jealousy here:)

Granny: Ralph and Char were witnesses and benefactors of the tomato. I don't know about Ralph but Char will tell the truth and back me up.

Even though our spring, well actually the first two weeks of May were incredible, warm and dry, we still don't have tomatoes on the vine, not even green ones, but we have blossoms! So we might have them earlier than usual as well. My corn... hey I'm just thrilled it is already in the ground and up three inches...

But hey good for you folks hope this means no flooding but also no drought either.
