View From The Porch And More

We've had 15 plus inches of rain since the beginning of June here in southeastern Burt County. I quit keeping track at the 13 1/2" mark. Keeping that in mind, it's not unusual that Marilyn could snap this pic from our front porch a few days ago. It's a common sight.
I think the 15 inches of rainfall this year will be averaged with the zero rainfall for the next two Junes to give us something to hope for.
Below is activity at Morrow Collision Center. Son Tom is seen here apparently hiding behind my 1958 Allis D-14 farm tractor. What he's really doing is applying a coat of primer to the sand blasted frame. The picture after that, was taken later that day. It shows the same tractor in all its freshly painted glory.

Ron is searching for an Allis G -- whatever that is.

Our sweet Orange Tractor is out visiting at our friends house for now. I miss him in my yard. But there isn't a lot for him to do here right now.

Yours is going to be looking all shinny and new soon eh? Is it going to be a parade tractor?

Old tractors rock. Big threshing show up hereabouts in Mid-August.

Didn't I see that "tractor" in Transformers?????

Cliff,
We had a brief shower, just as I was getting ready to mow. Lightning too. There was about 0% chance of rain...still we got some. I still got to mow but dang, is it ever going to turn into summer?

At least we don't have to listen to AM84 to see hear if today is an "irrigation control day" My feet have become so webbed that I can't wear my flip-flops.

That is a lot of rain Cliff and the clouds are pretty awesome looking!

Your tractor looks like something from Star Wars. Once it gets back together though it'll be real purty!! Hope you show the after picture!

No, I don't drive a Lincoln Town Car anymore. I traded it for a Buick Century! (in response to your comment on Jim's blog).

Cliff, we have had two days of maybe 10 minutes of rain in the last 50 days.... This has been one of the driest summers we have had in a long time. The last few days we have had rain around us, but it seems to jump over our house and hit somewhere else....lol

Your tractor looks "fancy dancy."

Cliff (Tom!), thanks for bringing back some fond memories. I use to look for that orange tractor each time we pulled up to the farm because if it was out of the barn, there was a chance grandpa would let me drive it! Looks like some more Morrow's will get that same chance for another 50 years. Marty

Wow, wow, wow! That engine is spiffy! I think the oldest tractors we have are the John Deere B and the Farmall F14. It just rained here last night. The second night of rain in weeks upon weeks of nothing, hence the traveling. I know the hubs would love to do this one day to the B.

Those clouds look wicked.
No doubt about it, the boys do great work.

I love the photo of the clouds! We would be complaining if we didn't get any rain!

Hi Cliff, your rain sounds like good. Maybe you could send some our way. We have a terrible drought (Lucy said it all) and the heat is setting records too.
Guess maybe there is a Global Warming, Evelynn.

Like your orange tractor. He would do my old Ford for a price. I am betting you got it done cheap. None of my kids does nice things like that. If I had a ship to tie up or some books to keep or needed several million or wanted to play at the city gym they might could help. :-)

GOT A 1960 D-17 OUT HERE WEST OF HERMAN. MAYBE WE SHOULD GET THE TWO TRACTORS TOGETHER SOMETIME. I BET THEY COULD SHARE ALOT OF STORIES. WE HAVE A 1949 WD THAT THE BOYS MIGHT WANT TO PAINT UP SOMEDAY. YOUR TRACTOR IS GOING TO LOOK REALLY GOOD.
