In Sunday School this morning we were studying in the book of Daniel and our teacher wanted someone to define the difference between the words 'To Know' and "To Understand."
A moment passed and I raised my hand and said, "I think most men 'know' their wives..."
I didn't get the chance to finish but I think I know why she avoids calling on me. I'm the little Billy in the back row.

That is classic. And how many times did Marilyn poke you in the ribs?
Ralph
Bet that caused quite a few chuckles. I know you gave me one, thanks.
Nothing like stirring up a little conversation in Sunday School. Made me smile. This is exactly how I feel about men. To know them is to love them, but to UNDERSTAND them, a totally different story. My husband says DITTO. Take care.
Awesome!
It sounds like your pastor appreciates you about as much as our pastor in the small Kansas church appreciated Ron. Ron actually interrupted her sermon once to correct her on some facts she was using that were not correct. Also when we were ushers and approached the front to begin the collection taking, he whispered to the pastor that he would "squeeze the tightwads for all he could", not knowing the mic was on and the whole congregation heard him. I am betting that Marilyn and I both do a lot of elbow-to-rib poking on Sundays.
Yeah Annie, if the preacher is looking for a response from the congregation he always zeros in on me. For some reason.
It depends on what "is" is.
now that's funny.
Well you did give others a chance to answer, just cuz you had the correct answer (which by the way works the other way as well, if I might state the obvious)
Know means something different in the Bible than in school, Cliff.
You knew that.
I'm wondering why she asked if she knew. :) Maybe she is a spinster?

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
..
Heeehehehe, I do believe the 'little Billy' within is correct!
God bless and enjoy your Valentine's Day Man!!! :o)
Well Cliff "I know you wrote that.....
but I don't understand why?" won't you ever learn????
All sorts of thoughts running through my mind, so I'll keep this PG: Classic Cliffers moment. Great post!
