Of Little Girls, Ponies, And Birthday Parties.

There are many 'engaging' people in this world. This is one of the most. She is one of my Grandaughters. She just turned 6 years old. She can enter a room full of strangers and look every one of them in the eye. I think she is judging which new person would be the most interesting to talk with. Then she'll go talk to them. Here, she is in the park on a very hot day. It was about a month ago. It was her Birthday party.
Her Birthday party had a theme. It was "My Little Pony." The funny part is this girl HAS a little pony of her own. Her Mom takes her little pony to different events, somtimes even for hire. This special day the pony was brought to the park so all who attended the party could get a ride. I opted out.
As you know, my Little Ponies have pink manes.
The new six year old learned that you can lead a horse to water...but you can't make them drink blue water.

And, you're right Miss C. is a charmer.

She is adorable! Why is it that at 6 people have every confidence, and at 12 it disapears? My daughter is much like your grandaughter, confident, looks straight into the eyes of people she hasn't met, talks a blue streak, offers opinions. She turned 6 in June. I am told that when I was 6 I was the same way, what happened to me at 12?????
I hope your grandaughter and my daughter learn to keep that outgoing friendly way about them, that the underconfidence never takes over! Love the pink mane on "MY LITTLE PONY."

A child after my own heart!! Love the ponies even if one does have a pink mane!

I'll bet the ponies were glad you chose not to take a ride.

Would the Blue Water explain the Pink Manes? I have both a 7 and a 5 year old granddaughter. They are the GREATEST aren't they? Your 6 year old granddaughter looks like she is a lucky little birthday girl here! ~ jb///

As for your question about “What game?”... Let me say this... weren't USC's Cheerleader's CUTE? As for the score... 31 points is GREAT! (Well… unless your opponent has MORE of course!)

Pink manes and blue water - pretty colorful post, Cliff.
On top of being colorful - it's pretty funny as well.

Wonderful pics, Cliff. I love the little ponies. There used to be some up around the corner from me, but the people sold the property...and the little ponies disappeared...no doubt, they took them to their new home.

Your little grand-daughter has a very knowing look about her...I reckon not much would get past her. Perhaps she takes after her grandfather! ;)

Cliff,
You're right. I don't think she has met a stranger. She also gives a great tour of the farm. Glad she had such a colorful birthday party.

Have fun being 6, Miss C (or is it K)!!!

To this day I still cannot walk into a room full of people (strangers or otherwise) and look them all in the eye. Good for her, because that is a very good attribute to have. Not to mention she is a very pretty little girl.

I know you read Cliff. Boy I am a looser lately. I am sorry. I need to pull my socks up.

I had a bit of a fright yesterday. Gran was taken into hospital and nobody knew what was going on. I had a day full of tears but thank goodness she is home now.

I am not sure my life will ever slow down.

Take care xx

Pony rides plus b-day cake!!
That's heaven for kids!
Look at her rosy cheeks. She really is a pretty little girl with a very sweet smile.
I look forward to talking with her in person next summer.
I mentioned Blogfest '08 to my parents on the phone the other night, and they asked if they could come too. I said that I'd love to bring them along.
So...
you may be meeting the WHOLE fam damnily next summer!!
My parents read my blog, but rarely leave a comment. They are starting to really like my blog buddies.
Most of my blog buddies are good, wholesome folks who know the importance of family.
You and Marilyn have done the family thing right, and now you are reaping the benefits of all the love and sacrifices you made for your children over the years.
That's the way it's meant to be.

Nora and JD, Bring the parents. There are no limits. We'll just roll with the punches. If we outgrow one venue we'll just rent a bigger one and pass the cost onto whoever is here. Should work out.
