It's Saturday Night!

This little thing was flitting around our house yesterday morning whilst we readied ourselves for church. I was standing at the stove cooking sausage when she apparently went in and out of the bathroom where her Dad was showering. She excitedly came running down the hall yelling "Gampa Ciff, Daddy's SNAKED, Come look."

We had our budding 'light parade' in town Saturday night. The air temp was above freezing but just barely. Here I'm driving a float for Queen Wilma and King Gordon of our local senior center. The 2008 Mustang they had me drive was just fractionally larger than the driver.

This is my wife's entry in the parade. Not clearly visible is the animated Snoopy on top helping pull Charlie B. out of the chimney. It was a fun night. The parade was preceded by the annual merchant Christmas open houses. The town was full of people. It reminded me of Saturday nights of yore.

Marylin's float is so cute, it should have won first prize. Did it? Would you be modest.

It is a wonder the Ford dealer let you drive that Mustang since you obviously are a Chevy guy (your late model Z71 pickup, in the parade no less).
Was the Mustang an attempt to get you 'test driving' the Ford?
Well, it is nice, isn't it?

And you did look good in it. How was the heater?

It looks cold, but hey, you got to hang with Royalty.

I'm locking the door the next time I use your shower. SNAKED, indeed!

Love that Mustang, Cliff, as for Daddy being Naked, well...no comment. Your poor son is imortalized for that, oops! I love the idea of the floats in a parade, we have a few, our parade is comming up on Saturday, the "guest of honor" in his red suit will be the last to arrive on the fire truck, an annual event. The postal workers, mail carriers, or the phrase from days of yore, mail mne, collect letters to Santa from the kiddies who have them, and I think that they give responses from Santa if the kids have their address on them. It is a long standing tradition here in "P Town." I haven't been to a parade since Patrick was a little wee one, but my in laws go every year, and sometimes Scott does, he takes the kids who are still interested in going, I on the onther hand haven't had the Xmas spirit in a few years, too much going on! Maybe this year I will go. I have a few days to plan. I also need to find the gloves, hats and winter garb, it is getting cold here too! Thanks for sharing, Happy Thanksgiving!

Marilyn's float is wonderful!!!!

You got to drive the King & Queen around for the evening. What an honor. I hope you did that backwards kind of wave like The Queen of England does. It's so shiek.

Your granddaughter is adorable!! At least she doesn't say nekkid like the chitlins here do.

Great float. I really do like those parades (Minneapolis is the home of Holidazzle...). I'm just worried they'll soon start holding them on Labor Day.

I have a few mustangs here myself. Some are smaller than others, so I can relate to not fitting.

Just stopping by to wish you and the family a wonderful Thanksgiving. I won't be making the blog buddy rounds again until Sunday evening.
Rev. JD says that gluttony is not a sin on Thanksgiving.
Amen and Amen.

What a word combo: snake and naked! Now to other LONGings...a cool 'stang! They were escorted in style by you. Wow! That is the car I've been hankering for; it would make me float. Speaking of that, Marliyn is maga-talented!
