UPS Update

I want to be fair here. The local people we deal with for UPS couldn't be better people or do a better job. The lost equipment was reportedly dropped at the door of a business that had moved. They reported to us (thru our local people ) that UPS had done their job by dropping it at the door. If you'll recall we had purchased an additional $200 dollars worth of insurance on it that supposedly didn't mean anything. After coaxing on the part of most of you readers and having even had my son call from Lincoln saying give me the claim number "I know someone."
We approached them again thru the local folks and this time they wanted some more info and told us they would send someone out to retrieve the package. A call yesterday wanted us to bring pictures of what was missing. I assume so they could decide if they were actually going to have to pay all of the $200.

Today the package showed back up in Tekamah. In good condition and we couldn't help but notice the stamps that said "Business moved" "undeliverable-return to sender". They were covered by other stickers that UPS had put on. We think the package was sitting in a warehouse somewhere un-noticed until someone was made to go look for it. The pictures are of the contents. Marilyn couldn't remember for sure what all was in it. The shears are all $70+ with a couple as high as $150. The clipper blades at left are all in the $30 to $40 range. Clearly not enough insurance. The big question is how the heck many blades does she have if she can have this many shears and blades intransit and still groom 8 or 10 dogs per day.
It's going to take some refiguring and a little fortitude to put this all in the mail again. They still need sharpened. "Uh yes, I'd like to purchase a $1000 worth of insurance."
Yes you are correct. Three or four smaller packages would be wiser. But none the less, the price you pay for grooming may be going up.
See you guys on Friday.

i am so so glad that you didn't let the situation go and got to the bottom of it plus you got the package back. i think for their screw up they should have to resend it for you for free with the $1000 insurance. good for you guys.

not only should you be wondering how many shears and blades she has but where she keeps them. watch your back!! lol

We've all had our problems with the mail delivery lately. Glad yours had a happy ending.

Cliff, you are so lucky to get that package back.....Is there no one locally that can sharpen your scissors and blades? How much would sharpening equiptment cost? It might be cheaper to just sharpen them yourselves.

Next time: proper insurance PLEASE! Man, you are lucky!

I think we finally have an answer to "What can brown do for you?" that the UPS commercials used to ask.

Good ending on this story - glad to see you got your stuff back. Maybe one of us should open up a blade sharpening business in Tekamah. It looks ike Marilyn could keep us busy!

Ah, back to the free hair trims now Cliff.

Looks like you finally got the things Marilyn needed long before now for her kennel business.
I hope so.
(Not fun to deal with pkg delivery hassles w/ any company especially when needed items are delayed and affect subsequent business occuring.)

I just have to grind my teeth over this kind of stuff - I'm glad you, at least, had your property returned. Will you be sending them an hourly bill for your time? Isn't there somewhere in Omaha (next time you're there) you could drop them off for sharpening?

Looks like Marilyn is well supplied for her grooming business. My dog sure needs a grooming bad right now. I don't want those prices going up. I think Janell has the right idea!!

Does Marilyn cut your hair too?

Marilyn can't operate her business efficiently with dull shear and clippers. PLUS, also, in addition, as well, too, she needs many extras of these on hand for when they get dull. Just pay the insurance and cross your fingers. I'm sending happy thoughts to help these items reach their destination this time.

Cliff, ol' pal, I just posted a "Bucket List" over on my joint. Wouldn't you know it? I accidentally tagged you--and Ralph. Come see.

Aren't you glad you didn't give up?!?!

Cliff
I have been mailing several packages to kids in the midwest. It's amazing to me that it cost $1.81 to send a 99 cent box of candy. No insurance needed.
Glad you followed up on the package.
