A Farmer: Out Standing In His Field

My Dad liked to play with words. He would make fun of newspaper articles that were incorrectly spelled or had the wrong meaning of the word. If we were driving through the country side he would say: "There is a farmer who is out standing in his field, he also is outstanding in his field. Here my eldest grandaughter is with me as I check for soybean aphids. The picture was taken a while back. We are both out standing. In the field.

The bottom pic is of another of our grandaughters, she is on the birthday present that Grandma and Grandpa gave to her a few weeks ago.
We should have kept this horse. It was the only equine on the farm that wasn't burning hay.

ALSO: I have a tree that has grown up enough to be in the way of my computer's view of the satelite. That is what I'm using as an excuse for not blogging enough. I'll try to do better. Anyone wanting to help sacrifice a tree in the name of technology, contact me. It's a siberian elm so don't worry, I can grow another fifty footer in two years.

Yeah, yeah, yeah!!! Wait till B'stock 09 and I'll come and get a coupla seedlings, too.

Then we'll have some elms out standing in our back yard. And that will remind of us you, an outstanding blogger.

I don't care what the others say about you.

The soybeans look tall.

I like the horse that your grandaughter is riding. Cute!! I'll bet she likes the live ones better though!

So glad to see a post Cliff. I thought maybe you had been working too hard, with no time to blog! Say Hi to Marilyn!

Siberian elm, huh? I thought so said you had a tree, not a weed, blocking your satelite dish.

Hey Cliff, the tree has to go! Sell it for bio-diesel fodder. Trees can't stand in the way of the C. Morrow blog.
You guys are outstanding in the beans too, who is the fullest?

I like your horse. We have one not quite that big up in the attic, it was Karen's. Soon it will be an anitque.
..
I didn't see any tree near big enough to block your computer's view, it MUST be a fast growing tree. :-)

Hey! I've seen all three of you outstanding people alive and in the flesh and on the farm. Those granddaughters ARE TRULY outstanding and so are you!
What a great b-day present. She looks like she's having fun, and I bet her little sister likes that pretty pony too. That horse doesn't have to be saddled or fed, and it doesn't go poo poo in the yard.
Gustav came up and REALLY packed a punch here in AR. We were without power for three full days!!!
Hitonious guy, that Gustav.
I posted pics and videos at my place if you care to see Gustav's wrath upon us.
Have a nice weekend.

Hi Cliff! I'll say that you and your granddaughter out standing in the soy bean field is outstanding. All of your granddaughters are very pretty.

I've heard some pretty good excuses about why people don't do things, but a tree blocking the computer's view of the satellite is a first. I'm surprised Ralph hasn't shown up yet to help solve this problem. Lisa

I always knew that Cliff was corn-y, but apparently he's full of beans too.

That's all I've got.

What happened to the corn? You tryin' beans now? I suppose they will use those beans for soybean oil....

You sure have cute granddaughters....Glad to see you back, I'm sure blogstock wore you out.

Gorgeous smiles must run in the Morrow family. For that, you truly are all outstanding.

My kids had the opportunity to play in my aunt's cornfield on Labor Day. They had so much fun...it reminded me of my sister and me 25 years ago...running through the cornfield...it was wonderful. The farm life is where it is at. :)

Oh my goodness, my Dad used to say the same thing about the "farmer outstanding in his field". Also, whenever we drove over a railroad track he'd say "A train must have just gone by" and I'd say "how do you know?" and he'd say "because it left its tracks".

Hey Cliff where are you? Are Bobbie and I going to have to come out and sacrifice that tree in the name of one of our favorite bloggers? Lisa
