I know that smell. Sometimes it was so strong you could see it, too.
I have a Persian friend who once told me that on his first trip across the US from LA to Dallas that they passed through Amarillo. "... and you could even smell the cow farms."

I wear a perfume called Essence of Cow Manure.
It is quite noticeable.
