Oooh, Cliff, you just reminded me I have 3 ears of corn in the fridge! (Not that it's nearly as good as what you're eating, but still....) Corn on the cob is one of those awesome summer thangs, like peaches. MMMMMM!

Hi Cliffers!_ Yum! Reminds me of the small veggie garden we had when growing up but farm veggies are tops. Dinner: stuffed green peppers w/ greebeans. Sadly, none homegrown. I'm hungry/salivating again though from reading these comments.:)

I see a controversy here, is it Sweet Corn or Corn on the cob? Being in the corn Biz I would have to say Sweet Corn is correct.

dlaine- what time is lunch?
Jerry- You are soo right, nuttin better than homemade applesauce!!
Uh Dan, this is a blog about home grown veggies, not burrito's from Little Mexico. (can't wait to try the restaurant however)
rhodent:I say yes but Marilyn said "probably not".
We don't have peaches Taza, but wish we did. See Ralph for great peaches.
MOM, come on over, I'll help you find an acreage. btw when are the Pork chops and applesauce ready? They are some of my favories.
Silvermoon, I'm interested, what do you put with the greenbeans??
Mer, I'm thinking it's sweetcorn. And corn on the cob when yer eating it. Kind of like the difference between cement and concrete. It's concrete after you add the water.

Unfortunately I have been eating like Dan with a box of peaches thrown in for good measure. Your list is impressive. Everyone that has left you a comment and reads your blog now know what you are growing. We all know your great cook too. So, why don't you just invite us all over for dinner?

We're having sweetcorn, grown down the street by that rare creature: a farmer in Fairfield County, CT. Also baking bread to give us an excuse to dish out the gooseberry jam that we made last month with berries from Massachusetts. Things could definitely be worse!

Found you through Taz. Love your blog!

Deli Sandwiches and Beer.

Hmnnn. Apparently I'm lacking over here.

Of course, you never did mail me the corn, so I blame you.

Sounds sooo yummy! I've had sweet corn on the cob a few times lately. I can't get enough of it!
Tonight it will be burgers & salad.
Enjoy all those great summer veggies!

Hey Cliff, I tried the link and it goes into Blogger profile. I have mine turned off because it was showing "old posts" of people that don't exist anymore! So unless they fix that, no profile for the Idgster. It might fix though if you'd been using it.

Keep chanting, "Blogger, it's FREE" ( I do everytime it stops working!)

Sorry Cliff the kids sucked them all down. Maybe next time.

Peanut butter and milk.

It's cement until you add gravel. Then it's concrete.

Homemade ice cream just has to be on that list.

And some excellent verenike and beef borscht at the annual Threshing Days festival near here!

Cliff, do you remember ever using farm equipment like this? (I'm talking about the third picture from the bottom on the right column on that page.)

If so, you ought to come down to Kansas on Saturday!

John, my oldest brother (19 years older) got in on using some of that older equipment and picking corn by hand, but for the most part, hydraulics had a firm grip by the time I got involved. A lot of that machinery is familiar but the stories I've heard from my Dad, make it seem like I was actually there.
I would like to make it to one of those threshing bees some day.

Well, Cliff, time to put August 4-6, 2006, on your calendar for the Goessel Threshing Days. Free lodging is available with us if you decide to head south.

I love fruit and veggies! So your list sounds truly yummy to me. This is the time of year in which I eat lots of gazpacho with fresh bread, or lovely salads with fresh herbs. Oh, summer-time is the finest when it comes to food. This morning I had blueberries in my yoghurt. That's the good stuff!!!
