Visiting the VIP'S

We got back yesterday (Monday PM) from the Loveland and Denver areas of Colorado. Marilyn's Dad had a medical procedure that went as well as could be expected. We also had a great visit with Char and Ralph. Ralph set the cooking standard pretty high while we were there. He cooked pot roast one evening for Char and I and then Marilyn joined us on Sunday and he fired up the smoker for salmon, ribs, and chicken. He's a busy man...by choice.
They have a large, lovely and nicely appointed home.
An added treat was meeting up with a nephew and his family from Ft Collins. They have a 3 week old baby boy. Add to all of this the fact that my Brother and his wife from New Mexico were there to meet this new grandson and it was quite a reunion weekend.
The trip home was like floating as we ran the weekend thru our minds.
I must say, I haven't laughed that much in a long while.

So let me see if I have this right -- You met up with your family at Ralph's and you laughed "more than you have in a long while" as Ralph slaved over a hot stove and smoker? I guess, as the song says, "That's what friends are for..."

Having some really good laughs with friends can be more therapeutic than anything else I can think of. Glad you had a great time.

Cliff and Marilyn - Thanks for a great, great visit and letting us be a part of it.
Grannie Annie - now that is funny!! Cliff did his fair share of cooking as well. Come to think of it, only ones who didn't cook were Char and Marilyn.

Having attended school at the U of Colorado in Boulder, I am most familiar with northern colorado, and your post allowed me to flash on some fun times I had there. Your family get together was well described, and more important can see it left you with up lifting thoughts and a good memory to store away----very nice.

Hi Cliff. I am glad the weather was on you guys' side for that trip to Colorado, there, and for coming back.
We are sorry to hear that Marilyn's dad is having troubles. We will be praying for him, Marilyn, and you all.
I did see Ralph's version about your visit, he is pretty meek. He didn't mention the new nephew, congrat's on that.
Be careful about all that laughing, it is hard on stomachs. Look what happened to Santa Claus. You probably could get by but Marilyn sure would be upset about hers.
