You Know You May Have...

a redneck family when you ask, "anyone have a knife?", and both your wife and daughter pull out pocket knives.
And to top it off, today I asked Marilyn if this was her Swiss Army Knife and she said "Well, it's what I've been carrying but I've lost that slender silver one I had, I loved that knife".
All this in a voice that used to be reserved for me when I'd been gone to a meeting over night. I'm glad there's still some'passion' left in her life.

Or;
If you've ever been accused of lying through your tooth......... You might be a redneck.

I am proud of my sister and her use of tools. I remember when for Christmas I gave her the first pocket knife she would own. Because she was working at a horse ranch near Omaha, I thought it would be useful. Her first day at work with it, she accidentally cut herself and two other people. Way to go sis!!

I must be a redneck too then! For me it's a Case XX!

Cliff
Char use to have that same voice when I was leaving - fortunately, she doesn't carry a knife.
Also, nice comment from Dan.

There's an idea for what to buy Marilyn for Christmas. She needs a replacement for that beloved knife.

I didn't know the women in Tekamah were carrying concealed weapons. I was lucky to get out of there without any puncture wounds from the sounds of it.

When I was a kid, one day I was surprised to see Mom sharpening my dad's pocket knife. A case.

I was even more surprised when I had to teach my married son how to sharpen a knife. I felt like I failed as a Dad.

My mom doesn't carry around pocket knives.

But my dad constantly has trouble at airport security checkpoints because he does, and forgets about it ;-)

Chuckling. I can just picture them.Can I be an honarary redneck (on this blog, at least), since I use a large pocket knife to sharpen my art pencils? (I'm not joking.)Also, that silver beauty sounds mighty fine....
