Better Than I Could Say It.

I have had a lot of points I have wanted to make about President Bush. I won't need to if you've got 2 or 3 minutes to read this well written article from the Wall Street Journal. It is written by one of the most brilliant men to have graced any one's administration. He was, and is coldly analytical. He is able to calmly make his opinion known and more importantly back it up with facts when going head to head with people who are always less informed and certainly unable to match his debate abilities. He doesn't need to look up numbers or facts. They're all in his head. He never gets emotional and writes as though he was playing the part of Sargent Friday. Just the facts ma'am. Now go have a look.

This was an emotional piece. I believe it warrants copying and carrying with me for a while. My words are never adequate to show support for this former President but these words are. I did not agree with all the policies of President Bush but I always remembered how much I would have hated being at the helm on 9/11 and having to take the country forward from there.

The Democrats have done such a good job of demonizing Pres. Bush, that it will only take time to see what good he has done.....I don't agree with his immigration policies or his big spending habits but he did keep us safe after 9/11 and that means a lot to me....I hope Obama doesn't overturn all of his policies in Iraq. I know that Obama is leading our country into a socialist nation and I wonder how long it will take to undo all of the damage he is going to do in that area.....We need to pray for our country. Nice talk by Karl Rove.

Cliff, Adi is fine. Her tub aged (plastic) and broke like that. Thank you much for your concern and for asking.

I like the Bushes, after all he is from Texas and did a lot for the state before he broke our state financially. When he started his cut and slash taxes and government programs is where trouble started here. I didn't get any tax break nor did small businesses or farmers but big businesses got tremendous breaks.
How he hurt Texas was by cutting revenue more than he cut expenses. We are still trying to recover.

His Dad I liked even better than George W, they were both really nice guys. They just didn't run the country too well.

Karl Rove I have no respect for at all, from the beginning he was underhanded slime. He and President Nixon would have gone a long way.

Iraq is my last item. I think we would have been better to have Saddam him in power but make sure he never, never had weapons of mass destruction. He ran the country with an iron fist and took no foolishness. He was tolerant of all religions, the present forces have made Iraq a wholey Muslim country. That is only trouble for us down the road.

We sure do welcome George W. home, he is a fine citizen!

WOW. Your post, an excellent article, and now several other people who liked Bush!! Did I fall down the rabbit hole or did that darn tornado take me away from the frantic Obamaites? I thought BOTH George's were soft spoken yet with steely determination AND I can only imagine that he wouldn't mind getting as far from D.C. as he can. And Mrs. Bush was one classy lady at all times and didn't need fancy designers (as in Jackie Kennedy)to keep her looking like one.

Yes Dana, he was a class act and never lowered himself to engage the vengeful left. It drove them crazy but I really admired that in him. He stayed principled to the end.

That was a reakky good article. Isn't funny that most presidents are remembered for their mistakes and not given much credit for the good things that they did. I worry about this country. I think were on our way out!

Pretty much what Annie says. Not a huge huge fan but no enemy either. He was respectable even when I disagreed, most of the presidents I voted for or didn't vote for were such for me. I think those days are over.

Thanks, Cliff. I've been thinking about you as I've watched the DC news the last two days.

That was a great article. I love G.W. and his father. No one is perfect, so why has the media had a hayday shredding him to pieces? It will be interesting to see what people say after a few years of Obama in Washington. Will all these naive people still love him?

Religion and Polotics are two topics I choose to leave alone Cliff, that said I've never heard anyone in a responsible position who could plait their tongue as effectively as George Dubya.

I am disappointed that the war carried on as long as it has. And now in Afghanistan... A lot of kids have died since that Hussein guy was captured. However, I'd vote for W again and again if I could.

I have already realized that the new administration is determined NOT to be "...a government for all Americans..." as the new president said it would be, but only a government for the liberal and wasteful. What? Is this some kind of a childhood, treehouse club? How many more kids are going to die now--before they are even born?

That was a terrific article, by the way. Thanks.

Yes Paul I'm sure you noticed that Obama has already reversed our policy of not paying for abortions outside of the U.S. and around the world.

Good article Cliff. I liked Bush. I heard that he was always a gentleman and his wife was a wonderful example of what a woman should be.

I think later on they will look back and see all his good qualities and the good he did, but right now they are not ready.
