The Year In Review- December 2008

This first is a request to all of you who have vehicles, and live in a part of the country that has occasional snow and rain and sleet, and must out of necessity park your car outside.
Consider if you would, cleaning the top of your little car off before you start out, just in case there is a layer of snow and ice sitting on top of it. It could, at the most inopportune time break loose from your car, go airborne, and fly into my lane and the right side of my trucks' windshield. Because I may have a $500 deductible on my comprehensive insurance meaning I would have to drive to Morrow Collision center and have it replaced at my cost. I'm just saying.

This one is for Ralph. He thinks he has been picked on by Char because he ran my riding lawnmower here on the farm the week before Blogstock '08 and when he got back home to Colorado she wouldn't let him get one.

Then I bought a 24" walk behind snow blower and that didn't help the situation. So just in case he was going to try and leapfrog me on the blower thing.... I'm ready for the next snow fight. Let me know if you need to borrow it Ralph. That neighbor you don't like could be the recipient of all of your snow on top of his house. Trouble is it will throw rocks even further than it does snow. You might want to check your home owners policy.

Too bad about your windsheild. A rock hit mine and with the cold weather when the car warmed up it ran all the way across. I was so mad. I just got this car in March. I drove my other one for many yeats with a small ping and it never did run!

Hey, I think if you point that thing a little more west I might catch some snow! I don't mind a few rocks, turn it on high.

I caught a rock in the windshield but it never spidered out like that. Start heading this way with that thrower. Looks like we'll need it tomorrow.

Oh, I'm so very glad we haven't had snow yet! The guy who doesn't clean the snow off the top of his car is #1 on my list of people to hate, though I haven't had a windshield incident... yet. Had to replace one because of a pebble though. It spidered.

The weather here in Indiana has been WEIRD. One day we're in thermal underwear and the next day we're in just a light sweater. I NEED predictability! We've got our first gas generator, waiting for the days without electricity, and it's just SITTING there making us feel foolish.

We've experienced two near misses of flying ice--on the same day! Big sheets off the top of 40 foot trailers. That was a couple of years ago. I've learned to keep a wide berth.

If you go to Morrow Collision Center, use my name and ask for a discount. Not that it will do any good...but you never know.

Given the size of your snow blower and the size of my snow shovel - I am suggesting a truce. Really, it would be in your best interest to accept it.

We are all witnesses to Ralph's calling for a truce. If you don't accept, we will know.

The snow piled on my car top and my failure to clean it off led to my own downfall. The first stop sign caused me to stop suddenly and the sheet of ice went forward and totally blocked my windshield.

I have a problem cleaning off the top of my van. I am only 5'2" and can't reach it. Luckily I have a garage and only get snow on top when it sits out while I am at work.

That snow blower rocks - get it? Sorry.

Sorry about your windshield! That is some snow blower, it has been hot here all December. People in shorts and flip flops, you get the idea. Finally got nippy this week, so everyone has snot. Good times, lol.

Ouch! Not nice for your windshield Cliff. Thankfully I have a garage, which I love parking the car in. A wonderful thing...a garage!

Now that is some snow blower! Sounds like it could be a little on the dangerous side. Be careful you don't move all the gravel into the cornfield and change your road area!

We don't have to worry about snow here.....Sorry about your windshield...I like your snow blower.

The problems that bloody snow creates Cliff, I dont know why you bother to have it!!

Ha, ha, ha... Ralph would LOVE that!

Too bad about your cracked windshield.
At least you know Morrow Collision does great work.

You could have taken your truck to that place in Hot Springs whose sign advertises "Long Cracks Repaired."
That still totally CRACKS me up!!!!
